Not too long ago, I received some Mahatma Rice from BzzAgent, along with recipes and coupons to give to friends. I've been having fun trying new recipes using white and brown rice.
If you are not familiar with Mahatma Rice, maybe you know S&W Rice? Mahatma is the new name of S&W! Mahatma is grown in the USA and is sodium-, gluten-, and cholesterol-free. In Hindi, "Mahatma" (pronounced "ma-hat-ma") means "outstanding" or "superior in character."
I recently ran across the Tasty Kitchen thanks to Kitchen Koala (I don't know how I missed this section of The Pioneer Woman website...living under a rock, I guess). At any rate, I found this really great recipe for Mujadara, which is Rice, Lentils & Caramelized Onions. I used the Mahatma White Rice, of course, which is a southern extra long grain rice.
This week I am also planning on making Butter Chicken ala Kitchen Koala...doesn't it look awesome?!?
